Though she experienced adversity throughout her life, 1978 Horatio Alger Award Winner Mary Kay Ash persevered, and founded Mary Kay, Inc., a private company with retails sales at $2 billion. She remained ever concerned with the well being of others, and dedicated her time and resources to both mentoring, and to funding cancer research centers.
